The culture in Cullen College of Engineering is one of innovation and entrepreneurship. Many of our faculty are fellows and members of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). They are on the forefront in terms of filing patents for their innovative technologies. Recently, the Intellectual Property Owners Association and the NAI ranked the University of Houston at the 79th place among the world’s top 100 U.S. utility patent-receiving universities in 2020.
The University of Houston has created an extensive network of resources, such as the UH Technology Bridge, and programs to assist faculty and students to take their innovation from the laboratory to the marketplace.
In Engineering, EPIE supports faculty and student initiatives in innovation and entrepreneurship and celebrates student success in discovery.
